Why the tripod base matters
Four-legged flat benches put a leg right where your feet want to go when you set up for bench press. A tripod base with a single front post leaves that space open, so you can tuck your feet back and drive with your legs.

The pad is 4" thick and 48" long, with a 13.75" wide option at no extra cost. The bench stands 16.9" tall. A wide pad gives your shoulder blades more to press against, which many heavy benchers like.
