Where facts come from
- Prices, measurements and specs come from the brand's own store for your country, or an authorized retailer.
- Every price is dated. Old prices are marked, and the Builder stops using expired ones.
- If a store doesn't publish something, we say “not published” rather than guess.
- We never copy listings, prices, reviews or descriptions from review sites. We write our own words.
- Photos are used only with written permission from the brand, through a licensed store feed, or when we took them ourselves, and each one is credited.
How we rate
Ratings are built from published specs, prices, warranties and store policies, scored the same way for every product of a type, with each score's reason shown. A rating says “tested” only if we actually used the equipment. Full details: how we rate.
Money and independence
- BYG isn't owned by any equipment brand, store or review site.
- Today no link on the site pays us. If we join affiliate programs, those links will be marked and this page will say so.
- Commissions never affect what the Builder picks, how products are rated, or the order they're listed in. Picks are decided only by fit, your goals and the all-in price.
- We don't accept payment for placement, and we don't publish sponsored content.
Guides
Guides are written for Canadian and US home gyms, checked against official sources (like the Canada Border Services Agency for customs rules), dated, and reviewed at least once a year. Where a rule changes often, a guide links to the official page instead of repeating numbers that might go stale.
