Gym flooring calculator

How many stall mats or rubber tiles you need, what they weigh, what they cost with tax, and how many trips to bring them home.

Measure in

The area

What are you covering?

Most people only mat the lifting area around the rack and leave the rest bare.

The flooring

Each one is 19 mm thick and weighs about 43 kg.

$

The shelf price at your store, before tax. We add HST 13% for Ontario.

Bringing it home

Your vehicle

A cautious load with the driver aboard. Your real limit is the payload on the sticker inside the driver's door.

You need

4 mats

Laid 2 across and 2 down, with about 3 m² to trim off. Altogether they weigh about 172 kg.

One trip

About 10 per load in a pickup truck.

How we count

  • Mats are laid in a straight grid, whichever way round needs fewer. Cut-offs aren't reused, so you'll have a little to trim.
  • Weights are the store's own when it publishes one. Otherwise we estimate from the rubber's size: a ¾-inch 4 × 6 ft stall mat comes out around 95 lb, the middle of the 90–100 lb stores list.
  • Prices are the catalog's checked price or the one you type, plus your province's sales tax.

Before you buy, read our stall mat guide: the smell, and how to cut and lay them.
